Unfortunately, UPS don’t last forever, so it’s helpful to know the age of your unit.  While it may look like a lot of gibberish, the first four digits in the APC serial number can actually tell you exactly when your UPS was manufactured.  If it’s more then 3-5 years old (like this unit), it’s probably time to get the unit serviced.
